- Racing with friends.
I'm going to running alongside friends not just in Melbourne, but due to the Wings for Life World Run being run simultaneously in 35 countries, I'm running with friends in different parts of the world at the same time. We've been inspiring each other and helping each other prepare for race day.
- Pushing your limits.
I get a lot of satisfaction out of the thrill of taking on more than I can chew and seeing what I'm possible of. Every training session in the lead up to race day I've been pushing myself further, faster, and harder. Whether it be weight training, running, walking or stretching, I've noticed improvements in myself both physically and mentally. I honestly don't think I've ever run as well as I've been running lately and I find even that in it self rewarding.
- Spread the word.
I think almost everyone I've spoken to over the past few weeks I've told about the Wings for Life Run. Telling them about my target of 5-10km, which has now changed to 10-15km, due to how well I've been running. It's not just my personal target I've been sharing, I've also told people about the goals of my friends who I'm running alongside with.Whether you're running in the event, a volunteer, a supporter, a fan or are just interested in the race, it's something pretty amazing. Wings for Life World Run in Melbourne. Running generally isn't something I do a lot of, but the Wings for Life World Run is such unique format and it's raising funds for finding a cure for spinal cord injury, a cause I'm rather passionate about, I wanted to be apart of it.
