Thank you

"Thank you" may seem like two little words but they can be very powerful. In this simple 3-minute TED talk, Dr. Laura Trice muses on the power of saying thank you.

Happy Easter

What are your plans for the Easter long weekend? I'm thinking I'll just potter about the home, might catch up with friends and family though. Also I'll probably indulge in some hot cross buns too.

Have a lovely Happy Easter!

San Churro Easter
In our family nothing quite says Easter like having six or so adults running around my parents yard, dad included, on the hunt for the chocolate goodies that my mum has skillfully hidden. Well kinda hidden, one year there was a pinata strung up in the back yard.

The Easter egg hunt is generally started after a breakfast complete with hot chocolate, coffee, eggs, bacon, toast, croissants and a selection of other yummy treats.

This year San Churro have kindly offered me a selection of goodies from their Easter collection to be included in the hunt and to be enjoyed over breakfast.

In the words of one of my sisters "Mum, don't forget where you hide them as they are really good chocolates." She's right, there's chocolate eggs, laughing bunnies, truffle eggs, choc cross buns and hampers full of Spanish choc goodness in the San Churro Easter collection this year.

A little something for you:

Plus... I've got some chocolate goodies to giveaway to one lucky reader! A mini choc block - milk, 9 choc cross buns and 3 truffle eggs valued at $30.85.

To be in the running to win:

The competition will run until the 26th of April, 2014 5pm AEST.

Record Store Day Australia

Record Store Day Australia
Music is good for the soul, well that's what I believe. So in theory Record Store Day is good for the soul too.

On the Saturday 19 April the humble record store that provides an avenue in which people can find old favourites, source out the hide to finds, discover new music and talk all things vinyl is being celebrated right around Australia.

This is such an important day for the music industry as it reiterates the importance of the traditional music outlet as one of the major avenues for the public to discover the many genres of music releases each year.

Over the coming two weeks further announcements will be made on special in-store promotions, performances, signings from local bands through to major names, in-store sales. In short, this will be an enormously entertaining day celebrating music and musicians in all their myriad hues.

Ambassadors Adalita, Marica Hines, Dan Sultan, Tim Dalton and Ian Hunter are all lending their support to celebrate Record Store Day Australia too.

For further information visit www.recordstoreday.com.au or visit their Facebook Page www.facebook.com/RecordStoreDayAustralia.

8 Million Flower Petals

Sony 4K - Four times the detail

Sony 4K - Four times the detail
Have you ever thought, hey, I wonder what would happen if you put 8 million flower petals into a volcano in Costa Rica? Well... wonder no more.

For the marketing campaign for their 4k TV, Sony partnered with ad agency McCann and photographer Nick Meek to create this magnificent scene with no CGI used. Apparently it took two weeks to collect the beautiful and vibrant-coloured flower petals and leaves in the clip.

I think it is rather inspirational and amazing even though it's an ad.
