Spirited

Spirited: A Studio Ghibli Inspired Exhibition
Earlier this year Espionage Gallery closed its doors, however that hasn't meant that gallery founder Joshua Smith has completely called it a day. In fact I've heard he is more busier than ever. Joshua has teamed up with emerging artist and curator Kat Coppock and Adelaide Council initiative Splash Adelaide to continue bringing art to the people with Spirited: A Studio Ghibli Inspired Exhibition.

This is a pop up exhibition being held in the Japanese Himeji Gardens in Adelaide, South Australia as part of a much bigger event which includes stalls, food trucks, interactive games and giant Totoro’s. Oh and as well as traditional Japanese music performance, sets from DJs Marcus and Ocky Plant, Origami sessions, and workshops teaching the art of Manga Japanese comic styling.

The art exhibition side of the event hosts 25 artists from around Australia and Japan, including the likes of Alyshia Eming, Cameron Brideoake, Creature Creature, Daria HK, Earther, Harry Plane, Rain Teo, Rebecca Murphy (Syd), Rem, Tsunami Hee Ja, and myself.
Truth by Nicole Tattersall
I've a a limited edition  stencil work titled 'Truth', available as part of the exhibition. Inspired by both the film and the book 'Howl's moving castle', I've created a five layer feather stencil that brings them together. I wanted to create something that wasn't fan art per se but that it captured the magic and the changes in which Howl goes through during the story in the book and the alternative portrayed in film.

If you are are in Adelaide do get along and see this amazing exhibition and event.
