Spirit of the Square

Spirit Of The Square - Christmas at Federation Square
Merriment, music, films, video games, family portraits and secret picnic places – it looks like Fed Square in Melbourne is doing Christmas a little bit differently!

For the month of December Fed Square will be filled with the Christmas spirit, there is a huge program of free events, including an installation of more than 100 Christmas trees arranged around the Square, free family portraits among the trees, a Christmas market, and a film program.

Before you think that's it, Christmas carols will fill the air twice daily with free concerts from community choirs and performances from some of Australia’s best emerging bands at Fed Square Live every Thursday evening.

Fed Square's Big Screen Gaming program will present new and independent games each week with the team at Freeplay Independent Gaming Festival.

Pull up a picnic blanket and enjoy block-buster movies and classic Christmas films on the Big Screen weekly in December. With a special movie marathon on Christmas Day.

With its array of family-friendly events and activities, Fed Square’s free Christmas program Spirit of the Square has little something for everyone.
