Legally Blonde the musical at Melbourne’s Princess Theatre. Being familar with the original film, what gave the musical a difference is the combination of a fantastic score with plenty of show-stopping numbers, slight tweaks to the storyline, extensive choreography and excellent chorus work - there is never a dull moment.
Though be prepared for fake American over the top accents and for the words "Oh my god you guys", to be stuck in your head for a few days. Though I should also probably forewarn you to also be prepared for a sore stomach and cheeks from laughing and smiling so much, because Legally Blonde is one show where fun is its middle name.
Extra special snaps to Lucy Durack, for being perfect as Elle Woods too. After seeing her perform in the role I can understand why she has been praised by so many others for her performance. She is over-the-top energetic and bubbly all throughout the musical.
If you want to see Legally Blonde either for the first time or again (who wouldn't) you only have a few weeks left. The Legally Blonde Australian tour shuts its curtains for the last time on 14 July.
