Vexta In Kochi

Ever since I started creating stencils around 2006, I've always admired Vexta and her work. Her recent murals in Kochi, India are no different, I think they look amazing, reflecting the location perfectly in her own style.

The mural was created as part of  the first Contemporary Art Biennale of India. Each piece that Vexta painted for this project contains a thematic narrative which can be read in any order. Building upon the themes she has been exploring in her work for some time: metamorphosis, transcendence and our interconnectedness with the surrounding environment, through the creation of contemporary, secular works which play with ideas of life /death and the feminine experience.

Much to my delight her psychedelic street pieces were documented as they unfolded across the walls and lane ways of Kochi, to create this great little video.
