Hints + Tips - Instagram

As most of you are probably aware Instagram have made changes to their privacy policy and terms of service which will be taking effect on January 19, 2013. They've changed the original proposed policy and terms as in response to the public outrage they caused.

You can read Instagram's blog post that highlights some of the key updates.

The good news is that these updates don't change the fact that you own your photos that you post on Instagram, and their privacy controls work just as they did before.

I've read recently the most up-to-date version of their proposed privacy policy and terms of service, and I'm happy to agree to them.

However if unlike me you don't agree and want to close your Instagram account here is what you can do.

How to close your Instagram account and keep your photos:
• Download all your Instagram images using Instaport.
Delete your account, which will clear out your account of all information and details and close your account.
• If you're after an alternative to Instagram try the Flickr App, I also use this.
