Yes, I'm Now On Pinterest

Recently I joined Pinterest and yes, I've found it quite similar to Image Spark. Except for the simple fact that it is public. I do like that you can add other uses to have access to pin your boards - allowing for collaboration.

Now I'm too sure how I'll go about using my boards - will I use them to catalogue my interests, share blog posts I've written, share pictures I took with Instagram or just compile things that inspire my work.

If you'd like to follow me on Pinterest you can so at www.pinterest.com/nictatt

Winter – A Group Exhibition

Espionage Gallery in Adelaide, Australia presents Winter – A Group Exhibition, featuring over 50 of the top artists from Toronto, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide.

I'm really flattered to be apart of this exhibition and to be in such an amazing line-up of artists. The two works I've sent for this exhibition both feature my deer stencil which I cut several years ago, coupled with an acrylic background.

Lately I've been working quite a lot with acrylics on some of my pieces for my solo exhibition coming up in August. Partly influenced by my time with Rebecca Murphy when I was in Sydney in May for CURVY.

Hints + Tips - Felt Boxes

I have quite a few little bits and pieces hanging around the studio and office. These adorable stiffened felt boxes would be the perfect way to keep them at bay and not sprawling across the room.

Jessica from How About Orange has created this easy-to-follow tutorial for making these small felt boxes. To download her template and check out the instructions go to her post here www.howaboutorange.blogspot.com.au/2012/05/diy-stiffened-felt-boxes.html.

Surf Relics

Earlier this month over at Partners & Spade in New York opened a new show purely dedicated to surfing. Featuring found pieces and artworks by legendary waterman, Mark Cunningham. The exhibition was sponsored by M.Nii Makaha Shorts - creating what can be deemed a perfect fit of creative and brand.

I wish I could of been able to see the exhibition in person and not just via pictures online. I looks like it was an amazing show. The kind of exhibition I'd like to do one day. A mix of love for a culture, artifacts and of course artworks.

A Proud Moment

Recently I was asked what some of my recent proudest moments have been. Along with some other amazing moments, I mentioned that being Editor of CURVY 8 and the moment when I first held a copy of the book was a pretty proud moment. Even though I know myself how much time and effort goes on behind the scenes, and how I felt when seeing the online proof. Nothing quite beats holding the actual book. It's physical proof of all the hard work.

Which is also why I'm so happy to be able to share with you the recent online version that was put together of CURVY 8. I hope you like it, just as much as I do.

Now besides all the amazing work of the CURVY team a book like this wouldn't of been possible without all the amazing artists and illustrators who contributed, all 1,100 of them.

If you are interested in buying a copy of CURVY 8 head on over to the CURVY online shop www.curvy.bigcartel.com.
