Hints + Tips - The No-One Shits On My Happiness Rule

"It’s striving to live in dynamic harmony, rather than in pointless combat." - Ming-Zhu Hii

Most of you will be aware of my undying gratitude to Ming-Zhu Hii, an artist and entrepreneur with a passion for getting creative people happy, prolific and successful. Her recent post over at The Public Studio titled 'The No-One Shits On My Happiness Rule' is something I relate to and I'll be honest I've been on both sides. It is well worth a read for any creative wanting to get some advice on dealing with the bullshit that comes with being part of any part of group these days.

I also agree with the part about open communication being the key. It reminded me of when I was in High School and approached a girl who was bitching about me behind my back. I told her she didn't need to fear saying it to my face. She stood there like a stunned mullet and didn't say anything. Had it been that important she would of said it to me. In giving her the chance to do so and her staying tight lipped, showed it mustn't of been all that important.

Artwork Catalogue

After or even sometimes during an exhibition where I have a large collection of works I compile together a catalogue of all my artworks currently in stock. This time round with 'Drip' coming to a close today it has been no different. I've pulled together a majority of the artworks I currently have available for sale or should a gallery be interested in stocking my work. My May 2011 Art Catalogue features works from some recent exhibitions such as 'Drip', 'Just Another Female Skate Contest - Exhibition', 'This Little Tea Pot' and 'Ladie Killerz #4'.

Should you be interested in purchasing any of the pieces from the May 2011 Art Catalogue or if you are a gallery interested in stocking my work, feel free to email me at nicole_a_tattersall[at]yahoo.com.au.

Perilous Times - The Nomad

Music recviews are generally not my thing... or so you would think. Though recently I've been asked to review two albums and at first this might seem a little odd but having of spent the first few years just out of high school working in the music industry it is not as strange as one might think. I also enjoy checking out the album artwork as much as the tracks it contains.

Now for the first cab off the rank...

'Perilous Times' the latest album by The Nomad is about to be released after 2 years of creatives in different disciplines working together. Even though the album can be heard via The Nomad website there is just something special about holding a cover that just cannot be replicated through the computer. Especially when the cover is such a fine looking cover as the one for this album. Created by Francis Cheetham from Resn in New Zealand. Francis has also worked on the artwork for the last three covers for The Nomad.

The tracks on 'Perilous Times' are a sultry performance with throbbing, reggae infused dubstep rhythms which effortlessly merge into one another seamlessly. Well produced and polished yet with just enough grit. I can see this album fast becoming a new favourite to listen to post surf on the drive home.

If you have an album you would like reviewed please feel free to contact me at nicole_a_tattesall[at]yahoo[dot]com[dot]au
