It's A Curvy Place The Another Place I Write

From early this year in addition to writing for my own blog I've been writting for Curvy's website. Curvy's mission is to inspire and celebrate the most creative women and with Muscle Up men, in the world, through their books, events, website and other initiatives.

I have thoroughly been enjoying promoting other creatives, art events, trends and inspiration just much as I have reading posts by other Curvy contributors! If you haven't yet checked out the site make sure you do so over your next cup of tea!

Two Bunnies And A Chick

How adorable are these Easter themed paper sculptures (aka paper toys). Lately I've been resisting getting into paper craft as I already have enough on my plate, but I think this might just be right excuse to get into a bit of printing, cutting and gluing!

Drip - Duo Exhibition With Megan Dell

Following on from the successful duo exhibition I did with Megan Dell at No Vacancy Gallery last year, we've once again teamed up to bring you DRIP, which will see both of us exploring spray-paint drips, runny water-colours, and wash painting.

I'm enjoying getting a bit messy for this show, it's rather liberating really. Below is a sneak peak at two of the works I'll have in the exhibition.

'Sea Stories' Film Festival and Art Exhibition

This weekend thirteen films of Sea Stories will be shown over three days at the beautiful Sorrento Athenaeum Cinemas for the Clean Ocean Film Festival. To download a copy of the film festival guide visit www.cleanocean.org/fifthestate/archives/010/1/CleanOceanFilmFestA4web.pdf

As part of the film festival there is also an art exhibition 'Sea Stories' at Antipodes Gallery & Bookshop. A percentage from the sale of the artworks will be donated to the Clean Ocean Foundation. I was invited along with many other artists and creatives to supply works for the exhibition. I've 7 pieces in the exhibition in total, 3 of which are pictured above. I truly enjoying showing works that are about something I treasure so much, in this case the ocean.

I hope to be able get down to the opening of festival and I'am looking forward to seeing "In The Eye Of The Whale" which is about photographer Bryant Austin, directed by Katherine Miller.

Hints + Tips - Social Networking

I'm currently working on a range of social networking tips for the Creative Women's Circle website. Some of the tips are for people who it doesn't matter how many followers/likers/friends they have. These tid bits of advice are the types of things than can be put in motion today! Which is why I thought I might share a few...
  • Follow/Like/Friend industry partners eg. a regular supplier, supporter
  • Update at least once a day, whether it be something in the news a link to something you found funny or that you have a big event on
  • Participate in Follow Friday on Twitter. If you don't know what Follow Friday it's where you recommended other people to follow people you think are worth following eg. #ff feat. some awesome people @person2 @person1@person3
  • Link your facebook/facebook fan page with your twitter account so that what you put on facebook comes up on twitter. Do ensure you check both accounts regularly though. This is a huge time saver too!
Happy tweeting and facebooking! If you want to follow me on twitter you can do so at www.twitter.com/nictatt and to catch me on facebook my page is www.facebook.com/pages/Nicole-Tattersall/46724905011

FanBoy vs ArtBoy

The subculture of fan art goes largely unnoticed in the art world. ArtBoy Gallery has taken on the mission to change that, with the first of a series of fan art exhibitions. I'll be showing 2 game inspired works alongside pieces by dirtfish, Bruyn, Mike Adey, Matthew Dunn, Bados Earthling, Ed Bechervaise, Ralf Kempken, Tuvsday, Allain De Leon and many more peeps!

Come celebrate with ArtBoy Gallery as they exhibit a collection from professional and amateur artists paying homage to the games that have inspired them.
