Jim Beam PRESENTS Australian Surf Movie Festival By Director Tim Bonython

Are you interested in surfing? Do you like surf movies? Do you just like the lifestyle of it? Are you into huge waves and even bigger wows?

If you’ve not been to a ASMF (Australian Surfing Movie Festival) before where have you been. It’s been touring for the past 6 years, starting in low key pubs and clubs, now showing in venues such as the Astor Theater on Chapel Street.

I’ve ventured down to previous ones held at the Espy in St Kilda and loved every minute of it, though some of the highlights for me was watching the scene from May Dayz II where at Teahupoo a Jet Ski goes over the falls near missing the surfer below and seeing snippets of Taj Barrows ‘Fair Bits’, one of the most artistic and jaw dropping surfing film I’ve seen.

2009 is the seventh year for ASMF and they promise to bring some of biggest and heaviest waves from around Australia and Indonesia, whilst featuring some of the biggest names in big wave surfing such as Mark Mathews, Koby Abberton and Ryan Hipwood.

The tour has already covered NSW and QLD, it will be coming to VIC, TAS, SA and WA real soon! To check out more information and tour dates visit www.volatile.com.au/asmf2009web
